The City Special Branch, mainly collects advance information on the general affairs of Dhaka Metropolis and surrounding areas. Apart from collecting all information about all political parties, political personalities and student and labor organizations etc., a strong network has been established in City SB Dhaka divided into 53 zones for the purpose of collecting confidential advance information of government, semi-government, autonomous institutions. A modern ops room is functioning at the DIG City SB office to coordinate these networks.
