The SCO Security Clearance Branch is one of the most important branches of the Special Branch. The SCO Security Clearance Branch plays a very strong role in investigating, collecting information and taking legal action on foreign nationals staying in Bangladesh. This branch plays a very important role in identifying illegal foreigners and eliminating various irregularities through periodic raids in various business trader establishments and other institutions. As a result of the campaign conducted by this branch, it is playing an important role to ensure government excheeker revenue for work visa/employment by encouraging the foreign nationals staying illegally to pay income tax. At the same time by ensure environmental clearance in Industrial establishments. SCO prevents human trafficking as weal. A total of 93 (ninety-three) police officers including one Special superintendents, two Additional police superintendents are in charge of this important branch.
